Stops and targets from structure

Where your idea is wrong

A stop is not a random number of points. It goes just beyond the level that proves your idea wrong: for a buy, under the last higher low; for a sell, above the last lower high. If price gets there, structure has broken and you want out.

Targets at the next obvious level

Aim for the opposite swing: for a buy, the last swing high, where resting orders sit. Measure the distance to your target against the distance to your stop before you enter, never after.

Remember: Stop beyond the swing. Target at the opposite swing.

Test yourself

Why not use a very tight stop right under your entry?

Normal pullbacks will hit it before the idea is actually wrongStops belong where the idea is invalid, not where it feels comfortable.
